![]() I had to deal with lost children a few times, apart from in Disney it is never the child that is lost, but the parents. I’d get disgruntled guests come up to me and moan about the stormy weather as it meant that some of the rides were closed for a few hours so I’d have to deal with that. So with being a first point of contact with guests also meant that I’d have to deal with guest problems and complaints a fair amount. I worked in a park so the questions that I got asked were normally to do with the parks, so I’d assume that the custodians in the resorts and Disney Springs would get asked slightly different things to what I did. So you’re kind of like a walking information point so it helps if you know your Disney parks. The most common question was probably “where is the nearest restroom?” but you’d sometimes get more in depth ones about booking fastpasses and what certain rides are like, I’d even get asked for recommendations on where to eat. I was just cleaning while doing all these things.Ĭustodians are often the first cast member guests go to when they’ve got a question, so you get asked a lot of things. ![]() So this included things like giving directions, helping guests plan their day, answering lots of questions, pin trading and making magical moments. I’d say that the majority of my role was actually guest interaction which is why I’m talking about it first. Vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning pool decks.Emptying trash cans, lifting heavy garbage bags.Bussing tables in restaurants and outdoors.Working with cleaning chemicals and equipment.Extensive cleaning- including restrooms and toilets.High guest interaction while working independently. So this post is going to be all about the role for anyone who’s been given custodial for their program and are worried about it or for those wondering what it’s all about.įirstly, this is how Disney describes the role: ![]() I wasn’t too keen on the idea of travelling half way around the world to clean but now having been a custodian I can honestly say that I really enjoyed it! Custodial is a role that many people overlook when selecting their preferences for the program and I didn’t really think much of it so put it as a medium interest role. My role when I worked in Disney was custodial in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom.
